Hi. Thank
you for taking the time to not only visit the site, but
also take interest in what I have to say about my work and
the website.
This website is currently in a "remodeling" period. Since the creation of this site, my experience and abilities have grown exponentially. As I matured, I came to realize that this site does not do justice to my creative accomplishments and abilities. Therefore, a complete overhaul has begun on 5/10/07.
While the new site is being built, new images will be added monthly.
Bio
Although I was born in North Royalton Ohio, I grew up in Cleveland and moved to a suburb named Olmsted Falls for high school. This mix of city and suburb gave me an interesting blend of environments, and I have found that this diversity also plays a vital role in the foundations of my artistic creations.
After high school it was off to Ohio University. Upon arriving
to Ohio University I was a prospective
engineering student,
but I soon discovered my passion for relaying messages through captured images. Due to this, I became enthralled with photography (and every other art form that could harness my thoughts) and decided to persue a BFA in Photography. Photography has become my passion,
and it has driven me to shoot in numerous zoos,
large cities, and greenhouses for my current main body of
work titled Humanature.
My love and care for the environment we live in also drove me to persue a certificate in Environmental Studies in addition to my BFA.
After receiving my BFA Spring 2006 and working the Precollege Orientation program at Ohio University Summer 2006, I returned home to find work. Two days after being home I was waiting on a couple leads and decided to take my camera with me on a mountain bike ride into the park.
While photographing some turtles, I fell knee-deep into swamp mud. While going to clean up, a man was getting water for his dogs at the fountain. He started a conversation with me about biking, and I eventually turned the conversation to the fact that I got all muddy just for a couple pictures. This man ended up being a friend of mine and the owner of the photography company I now work for, Ohio School Pictures.
In addition to OSP, I now have a studio in Avon Lake at True North Cultural Arts Center, where I wear the hat of a teacher, marketing consultant, volunteer, and resident artist (www.TNCArts.org). I also volunteer in the Berea school district and at a special needs school in Ravenna.
Every day photography connects me to at least one new person. It is phenomenal how much I have learned about life just by picking up a camera. Hopefully the images display my true passion for what it is I do. If they do not already, hopefully the new site will accoplish this. Either way, let me know what you think about the progress!
Thank you for reading.
Enjoy
